K-1 Assessment Literacy Academy –In this Academy you will learn about the various assessments that K-1 students must take each year. Tutors will learn ways in which they can support student learning and achievement. K-1 students are tested on phonemic awareness, parts of a book, phonics, listening comprehension and much more. As a tutor you can support the learning of these skills so that students become better readers, feel more comfortable when assessed, and become life long learners.2+ Assessment Literacy Academy
2+ Assessment Literacy Academy -In this Academy you will learn about the various ways that all 2+ students are tested statewide, and the specific assessments given to students in schools. Understanding the tests can help you make these assessments less stressful for your students. Most of the skills that are tested are skills that all good readers need. Students are tested on comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, problem solving and writing. As you work with your students, in your sessions, you can support each of these skills while using the books and materials provided by the teacher.
